Fit Mums!

Although the thought of exercise may fill you with dread and too many sleepless nights have depleted your energy levels, some simple exercise could be the mood enhancer you need.
It’s not as easy to exercise when you’ve got a child but there are a few ways of getting fit and who knows you may also enjoy it!
-
Join an exercise class. There may be a local one with crèche facilities.
-
Swimming is a good relaxing way to exercise. If you take your child, try to take someone with you, so you actually get the chance to swim.
-
Borrow or buy an exercise video. Do it at home while your little one is asleep, or why not invite a friend along and if you’re brave, get the children to join in!
-
Taking your baby out for walks in the pram or buggy is great exercise. Remember to keep your back straight and enjoy the fresh air.
-
Play energetic games with older children. Make yourself run around as well as them.
Sometimes you can exercise without even realising…..
-
When you’re picking up things from the floor remember to squat, keeping your back straight and bend your knees. This is great for the legs and bottom.
-
Run upstairs. You probably find yourself constantly up and down the stairs, why not run them?
Finally try and find something fun to do, even if you have to scrape yourself off the sofa, away from the television for an evening….if you can get a babysitter for an hour in the evenings why not try something new with your partner or a friend? Laughing at your attempts at trying to salsa or jive, is not only good for the body, but a good giggle is great for the soul!
